Memorial Garden
The Memorial Garden originated in 2021. The purpose of the garden was to honor an active deacon who passed away in 2020. Tony Hedrick served as a deacon from 2016 until his passing on April 20, 2020. Tony was a loyal and compassionate man who stepped up above and beyond. He was loved and respected by our church family. The deacons requested that a Memorial Garden be developed on the side of the church. The active deacons purchased a bench to be placed in the area and the church community made donations to supply plants and provide for maintenance. It was then decided to offer this sacred space as a memorial to all deacons who have passed away.
In the Presbyterian Book of Order, the deacon is referred to as a shepherd whose purpose is to connect the members of the church family to one another and help provide compassion and care to those in need. These passing deacons will be remembered for the loving and compassionate service they provided to our church family.
